Paraphrase:
Wallace is composing a letter to Maeve in which he states that everything is excellent there but he still wants to return to the small city, Samson because he assumes that the small city may bring him good fortune.
Flapjack interrupts Wallace and reminds him that it's what he wanted, then he throws the black full gun which has short barrels and has been used frequently on the coffee table. Wallace moves the gun slowly and picks up the letter which was beneath it and puts the letter in his pocket. Afterwards he lies in a couch and begins smoking a cigarette.
Flapjack asks Wallace not to change his mind about what he said. Then he sits in a chair near him with a cigarette but without using it and just tapping it on his knee. Flapjack has always been such emotional and with full of excitment.Wallace bends over the table, while he's carful with his lame leg and grinds his cigarette in a blue saucer.
Wallace tells flapjack that he didn't mention that he doesn't want to do what he was supposed to with a quiet and smooth ton. He intentionally didn't look at Wallace 's face whom has so much excitement about this job that makes Wallace uneasy.
Wallace leaves for the kitchen while flapjack is explaining that he thought he wanted to back out.
Wallace calmly says that he would see him at eleven-thirty with a death-like voice.as flapjack hears him, he gets up and leaves there.
Wallace comes back to the living room as he sees that flapjack is gone. He gazes the black dirty gun. He's wondering about his stage in life. He feels bad about everything he has lost in his life. His left was hurt in the war, his Maeve left him and the point that he was an orphan black made him feel bad. And there he was with a twitching knee and waits for a robbery with flapjack because he hasn't paid his rents for months and the deadline is the next day.
Flapjack comes and Wallace reminds him that he's late. After Wallace sees the high flapjack he hesitates and thinks about going back home and forgets about all of it but suddenly he remembers that he doesn't have money to buy the tickets.
They review their plans and how flapjack has to keep people away. And that they should wait for people to leave.
There they are.11:30. At the small store. Flapjack is reading a magazine in its section. Wallace Is at the baby foods section. And three other guys including a cop,Leroy and a fat black lady who is talking about the price of a can of tomato.
The lady tells Leroy that ten dollars for a can of tomato is so much and Leroy asks her to look at other things because he wants to close the shop in ten minutes. Meanwhile the police leaves and Wallace breathes calmly.
Wallace is staring at the leroy whom has a wife and a girlfriend and is rich enough to wear two gold rings but is still increasing the prices. he finds that flapjack isn't there and the lady is still looking at materials.
Wallace goes mad about how the lady is doing slowly so he just starts the mission and askes Leroy to put his hands on the desk and asks the lady to leave or she may die. The lady leaves the store while hitting some materials and she takes three can of tomato at the last moment.
Wallace is disturbed on how in difference Leroy is to his actions. He asks him to give the money and while Leroy is putting the money into a bag he tells Wallace that he understood from the very first moment he came that he would do something not good and continues with telling him that if he were his daddy, things would be different.
In a moment Wallace forgets the whole things he forgets the fact that Leroy was just a black guy and just shots him.
The story changed now things were different. he might be able to pay the rent and finds some job but he wouldn't be the same Wallace anymore.
He comes back to his house, sitting on the chair and smoking cigarette when flapjack calls. Wallace tells him that things didn't go well so he can just give him twenty.
At the end he continues his letter. he tells Maeve that things are different now and that he doesn't want to go back anymore and he thinks that he'll always be a city boy.
